I would suggest that you remember the old adage 'if you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all' or you may find yourself banned from future official contests.

Stating your opinion is one thing but being unnecessarily insulting and condemning is bordering on being an asshole. Please choose your next words carefully because both the council and the guards are getting tired of having to deal with your continual flaming of other members.

If members truly are concerned with things are handled then they should have the courage to say so rather than hiding in the shadows talking behind their hands about how corrupt the council is.

You mean as fairly as we can manage? I'd be upset with that too. Or maybe they're upset that we don't get paid to run these contests for them? I definitely share their sentiment on that. :P (I'm just teasing).

I know we make mistakes, but we really do try our hardest to be fair. But 'fair' is subjective and we can never please everyone. We go by our principles, but if other people have different principles then obviously they disagree with our decisions. I just wish they'd respect that just because those decisions aren't decisions they agree with, doesn't mean that we're deliberately being mean, or unfair or anything like that. I also wish they'd speak up when they think there's a problem, so we can actually sort it out, instead of just sulking about it, or bringing it up when it's too late! >_< I guess I need a lot of shooting stars for all the wishes I have about contests. :P

It's what I did with this contest and also what I did with a couple of others. Nobody seemed to have a problem with the others.
I've also never had any real problem with any of the contests. I cant always enter them, and that's fine.
The thing I have a problem with is once the contest is posted on main street for voting, it seems like there is a poplularity contest going on. I've seen votes for entries that I (personally) feel are not as good as others. Now that is my personal opinion, but there are some entries that look like a LOT of work has gone into them and they are VERY well done, but they dont get the votes cause they dont go and ask their friends to vote for them. There's not a whole lot anybody can do about it, but I just wanted to rant. LOL I apologize.

Jeccabee if you see that going on anywhere you need to tell us since we do actually disqualify people for that. I know what you mean, that sometimes it seems like some of the less deserving entries get far more votes, but just look at some of the sites like DA any piece on there that treats certain subject matters (such as the most popular anime) are almost guaranteed to get more attention that a halfway decent piece that isn't of everyone's favourite character.

That is why I suggested that you think about what you are going to say before you say it. Just because something may be 'fact' or your 'opinion' does not mean you can just blurt them out without having to worry about the consequences.

I asked for your 'opinion' about the Y! issue because I actually read the comments that lead up to your banning and found their tone similar to the ones we have seen here over and over again. I had hoped reminding you of that might make you actually think for once and possibly learn from past mistakes but obviously I was wrong since all you're doing is once again whining that I'm mean.

As well, this is the second time in a contest where you have appeared to single out [Jitter] for one reason or another. In another contest you felt it necessary to belittle her entry as simple and now you contradicted her view on 'place holders'. That could be seen as harassment if I really wanted to make a stretch. I could also construe this issue to the point where its you who have a vendetta against all crew members here on ET and do your best to make things difficult for them but then cry discrimination when they speak sternly to you about it.

And for your information, I don't have you blocked and never have. That was merely an incorrect assumption on your part. So if you wish to continue this discussion in private then by all means, message me about it.

However, I do feel similarly to several others here, that because the 'pointy ears' are not visible, it wouldn't likely go to the poll. But.... all is not lost if you can't get access to a camera or a scanner. If someone wants to help and put pointy ears on your elf, this is fine. Just add the person's name with yours with your entry. This way everyone involved in the piece is properly credited. Collaborations are acceptable as long as all involved in them are properly accredited. :)

Just a reminder: The ECM Elf Photo Session closes at midnight, Elftown time, on November 15th, 2008, if anyone is considering entering it. :)
